Council of Friends
 Celebrating more than 40 years of service, Friends members gathered for the Annual Meeting and Luncheon
on February 9, 2019. Recognition as Member of the Year went to Gloria Allen of the Newburg Branch;
Library Assistant Andrew Goodman was honored for obtaining a grant from Louisville Grows to create a garden at Shively Branch; a clip promoting library advocacy from filmmaker Morgan Atkinson's new documentary film
was screened; two knitting machines went to lucky branches for community projects making hats and
scarves for the homeless community. Other topics included branch library support, event planning,
best financial practices and individual branch library reports.

Plans were hatched! Friends were made!
